So I'm in a group show on Saturday at the Blue Lamp. I'm showing at a bar. It's kind of ridiculous, but awesome. Anyway, I'm excited that I was contacted for the show and not the other way around and the whole bar thing will be a different way to show my art.

I'll also be poking my head around Big Brother comics on J Street in Sacramento. The comic anthology didn't make the printing deadline so we would have it by Saturday, but as far as I know there will still be people milling about selling things and being generally enjoyable.

On the 21st of this month (September) I'm having a reception for an art show at Delta of Venus. A nice little coffeeshop in downtown Davis. I've had one other solo show, but I didn't make much of an issue of it, so this is really the first time I've done this.

I'm freaking out a little, but it should be good times, so if you're in the area anytime this month come and check out my stuff.

I'm Still Alive, Kind Of...

Things have been busy and crazy and it's all only going to increase as the month goes on.

On top of getting things ready for the show I have coming up at the end of the month, I'm also moving out of my current apartment and still working all those jobs.

So the art show, that's the big thing coming and I'm working and I'm hoping that it all happens to my satisfaction.

The new blank t-shirts for reprinting Forbidden Love are almost here. They are going to be printed on American Apparel and I will be offering girls' sizes this time. The order I made was fairly small, so if you want to make sure that you get one, please email me to save the size.

As always, working on things for my upcoming show and I'm planning on taking the GRE's soon.

APE Aftermath + June Show

APE was great. I'm still tired from it all, but it's a satisfied, satiated kind of tired.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the expo and specifically our tables. I've got ideas for what I would like to do for next year and I'm going to try and get myself motivated enough to actually get them done. This includes a new t-shirt design and some button designs.

The next major thing to come along is my art show at Delta of Venus. I'm going to have to go crazy and work hard to get what I want done, but I'm inspired, motivated and I've cut out some distractions in my personal life. All in all, I feel good.

Because I'm vain and trying to see where I fit into the world, I googled "Hannah Moore," "Hannah Moore art," and "Curious Zoology." For both "Hannah Moore art" and "Curious Zoology," my site was the first result. "Hannah Moore" yielded the site being the first result on the second page.

I'm not so hidden in the world anymore.

APE and Other Business

APE is this upcoming weekend of the 21st and 22nd. If you can make it, please come out! We are at Table 551. I will be selling original artwork, t-shirts and various other sundries. At the table with me are Kristen of Unicornburger, Jenn of Mushpot Records and Gonzalo of Illustrated Sounds. Amanda Turnage will be at the table next to us, also selling here awesome art.

I'm planning on expanding my webstore once I get back from APE to offer more things and an easier way for people to get ahold of original and afforadable artwork.

Additions, Deadlines, and Go to a Show!

I added two new pieces to the Illustration section: Missed Connection and Kissy.

The first one is a submission for I Saw You, a comic anthology about personal ads. The second is a submission for Kissybook, a fold out book about kissing!

I have a deadline for April 6th for the IGN I Am 8-Bit contest. Trying to figure out what concept I want to use for it.

And like I wrote before, this Saturday is the closing reception for "A Minute and an Hour" at Fools Foundation 9 pm to when it ends. I know that people are very busy that Saturday night, but it would be cool to see you!

A Minute and an Hour

There is a closing reception for the "A Minute and an Hour" group show at Fools Foundation on Saturday March 31, starting at 9 pm.

I only have the one piece in it, but there is a lot of other neat things to visually consume, so if you are in the Sacramento area that night, try and stop by.

New Additions to Illustration

I added two new pieces to the Illustration section. Backstab Confusion and I Want to Tear You Apart. I was in a bit of a mood the other day when I drew these. Getting varying comments between them being cute and creepy. All in all, I'm pleased with how they turned out for the short amount of time that I worked on them.

Upcoming Art Show

Yesterday I dropped off this:
at Fools Foundation for the Small Works show. I'm pretty happy about how it turned out and I have one more frame/cage that I can make something with.

Elizabeth tells me that there will be a closing reception for the show on March 31st, so I'd love it if people could make it out to that. Gonzalo will also have a piece in the show, so this isn't just for me.

Semar has given me space in his garage to work on paintings for my upcoming show at Delta of Venus. I have some ideas roughly sketched out. I'm pretty excited to be working on paintings again. Semar is also hella cool for giving me some space to stretch out and paint in.

Show in June

I will be having a show at the Delta of Venus at the end of June. At this point, I'm looking for someone's garage to use as a studio space to get some paintings done for the show. As payment for letting me use the space, I offer any one of the paintings that I complete.

New Additions

I plan on adding some more later today also. I'm also debating about redoing my portfolio pages and adding explanations/descriptions for certain projects and pieces.

Switching Blogging Systems

I wasn't really happy with the way my blogspot was so separate from the website and unhappy with the tedium of updating the news section with html, so I decided to resurrect this lj and embed it in the website.

Those of you that are friends with this journal from a previous time, please know that it is now going to be a devoted space for art updates and news, if you would like to unfriend it, no worries.

Alright on to bigger and better things!

I'll be working on the layout and such for the next few weeks until it's tweaked to where I like it.

Mushpot and Alternative Press Expo!

I'm completing illustration work for the Mushpot Children's Compilation 3: Electric Exercises, which should be available later this year.

Along with this comes an appearance at Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco, CA the weekend of April 21-22.

I'll be tabling with Jenn de la Vega of Mushpot Records, Kristen Stewart of Unicorn Burger, and Gonzalo Eyzaguirre of Illustrated Sounds and Boss the Big Bit. We'll be offering a wide variety of items, many which will pique your interest. Stop by and see us, we love to talk. More details will be forthcoming as things fall into place.
